Create an itinerary including Mount Otemanu
Head up to the base of Mount Otemanu, an impressive natural monument whose volcanic rock peak marks the highest point on Bora Bora. While the brittle, jagged, 727 m (2,385 ft) summit is too inhospitable to be accessed, you can hike or take a 4x4 trip up to the base of the mountain. The latter option remains the most popular, because of the jungle's density and the difficulty of the walk. Look up at the black, rugged top of the mountain (visible across the island) as it stands in sharp contrast to the lush greens and bright blues of most of the landscape. Arrange your visit to Mount Otemanu and discover more family-friendly attractions in Bora Bora using our Bora Bora road trip site.

  • beautiful place!
  • We went to Bora Bora in 1988. My dream of a lifetime bucket list. Two weeks and it is breath taking. I would love to return but now I know the cost has doubled to tripled for 2 weeks. A must go lifetime dream but real when arriving.
  • Wow wow WOW! Why did I wait so long to come here? I almost hate to even leave a review for fear more people will know about this place. It’s so beautiful it’s hard to describe. Untouched by man and nature built what it wanted ❤️
  • Mount otemanu is one of peaks of an extinct volcano located at the centre of the island. Short way in 4x4 tour, Helicopter or Boat tour
  • Views are incredible fro all angles.....a new view every cloud that glides through the top
