Create an itinerary including Mt. Teurafaatiu
Take the challenging hike up Mt. Teurafaatiu for extensive, uninterrupted views of Maupiti and the surrounding islands of French Polynesia. With an elevation of 372 m (1,220 ft), the peak is the highest on the island, and provides visitors with clear sights of the lagoon and the reef as they enjoy a well-earned rest. You will reach the first viewpoint after around ten minutes, giving you the chance to head back down or carry on up to the top depending on your hiking experience and weather conditions. The track gets steep in places, and visitors must be prepared for rock scrambling and rope sections. You won't need a guide for this well-posted trail, but do note that you should not attempt the hike in wet conditions as the ground is slippery and dangerous. Make Mt. Teurafaatiu a centerpiece of your Maupiti Island vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Maupiti Island online trip maker.
