SAB Pearls, Maharepa

Definitely the place for reasonably-priced, quality pearls. The pearl shop at our resort had a very limited selection of overpriced “Robert Wan” pearls. A local suggested we try calling Sab Pearls, and I’m thankful I did. They were kind enough to send a cab to pick us up at our resort and even called the front desk to let them know it was coming. The shop was small, but packed with a much wider selection of high-quality pearls at every price point. The staff was incredibly cordial and let us peruse the displays at our leisure. We picked an ornate solitary peacock pearl pendant, a matching set of pearl stud earrings and another set of Tahitian black pearl studs. The price was markedly less than at our resort’s shop. My wife was very happy with the selection, and I was glad to be getting at least a reasonably good deal. After giving us incredibly meticulous details on how to claim the duty-free/Détaxe tax credit at the airport (which by the way was a breeze), they again called a cab, which shuttled us right back to our resort. The whole process was quick, seamless and relaxed. I feel like we found the best pearl shop on Moorea. If you’re going to support a truly local business that cares about quality and integrity, this is the place to visit.

Excellent experience shopping for Tahitian pearls. The owner, Sabine, was very friendly and helpful in explaining all the differences and nuances involved with Tahitian pearls. They withheld the VAT and provided all the necessary forms, and a pre-stamped envelope, to successfully clear customs. My only regret is that I did not buy more pearls while I was in Moorea. Maruuruu!

We stayed in Moorea for 5 nights and got this recommendation for pearls by our concierge at The Hilton. The shop is wonderful! Very clean and organized. The pearls are gorgeous- I got 2 pairs of stud earrings and a necklace. The staff was excellent, friendly, and very knowledgeable about everything. They were fair about pricing and even explained exactly how to get our tax credit back at the “detax” desk at the airport due to us being tourists and being on vacation in French Polynesia. I couldn’t recommend this business more! The best place to go for pearls in Moorea!!

I purchased the most beautiful earrings here and had a great experience. I was looking for a shade of blue that was difficult to find and Boris went out of his way to find a lovely pair for me. He was very patient and knowledgeable explaining the quality and colors and pulled pearls from around the store. He also went above and beyond and even pulled out some pairs that they JUST literally got into the store that hadn't even been shined yet to give me all the options. I would definitely return to SAB!

By far the pearls here will be quality. Shopped at so many different places and if you know what to look for than you know you are getting QUALITY. Sab was there and was working but still took the time to interact! I would highly recommend buying your pearls here
