Arahoho Blowhole
Get splashed by the waves at Arahoho Blowhole, a strange geological highlight of Tahiti's coast. Long ago, liquid lava cut a tunnel through the volcanic rock of the coast here, which now allows seawater into its confined space. When a wave comes in, it gets trapped and is forced up and out through the "blowhole," spraying the surrounding area and looking much like a volcanic geyser. Stand on the viewing platform and get covered in the warm seawater as you snap photos of the impressive and unusual natural spectacle. Note that the attraction remains closed until early 2016. I guess I was expecting more. It's a hole in the rocks that makes a loud noise when the waves roll in. Some visitors where placing items in it to see them shoot out but this just seems like a bad...

This is well worth a visit if you are nearby, the vista is stunning and to see, hear and feel the power of a lava tube blow hole is quite something! There is plenty of parking and there are toikets...

The blowhole itself is especially fun for kids. It's also such a cute spot for pictures! The sidewalk and railings are well maintained and look great! During the day, the little shop is open where you can buy local jewelry, paréos, and other local goods. Great view! Easy to find, there was always parking available when we went.

Along NE coast on drive around island. Very small parking lot with maybe 5 spots. There is a little park that wraps around both sides of the tunnel the road passes through. Pretty park and beautiful views along the coast and black sand beach. Waterfalls are just across and down the street.

The blowhole is a small opening near the wall of the rock face that shoots out a mist of seawater in gusts with a loud whoosh sound. Around the blowhole also involves a short paved trail along the coast. The black sand beach is also fantastic to relax in. If you walk to the edge of the beach towards the east/south side, there is a freshwater river that feeds in to the ocean which is a very unique feeling with the intersection of cold stream fresh water and warm salty ocean water. Parking is extremely difficult but we were lucky and was able to get a spot right as someone left.

I loved this beautiful place and the sound of ocean air blowing through the blowhole. Best photographed with a drone. Don't miss nearby Venus Lighthouse.

Really fun, free and easy parking. We spent about 20 minutes here. The blow hole was awesome (and the ocean was calm today so am sure it gets even better!). Make sure you watch for a few minutes to be sure you see a set of waves come through to see how big the blow hole sprays! Beautiful park and walkway plus restrooms and a little shop with drinks and Tahitian products.
