  • Great place for a walk, gets pretty exciting if you continue to the water fall. Proceed with caution and a license from the town hall in Papeete. For the waterfall walk good footwear is essential. Good situational awareness, track finding, common sense required.
  • You need a permit from the mayor's office to hike up the valley, but it is well worth the journey. There is a little of everything: beautiful vegetation, historical ruins (fort and marae), mountain peaks, and one of the most impressive waterfalls in all of French Polynesia
  • This hike was epic. Don’t give up! Keep going.... the end is fantastic.
  • We tried to go but the road was closed. There was no sign or information.
  • Performed in 5 hours total, with breaks and swimming in the basins at the top of the fall (be careful, no protection in the last basin, after that it's the fall, 125 m!) Magnificent hike, in the lush tropical forest, passage helped by ropes to access the basins, turn right after the wall! Permit requested, in 5 min at the town hall of Papeete, 600 xpf, security guard at the entrance, mosquitoes everywhere!
