We visited Tiki Tuhiva statue during our return to Hatihe’u Bay after we finished the island tour and we found that this area is home to around 250 people (in ancient times the valley area housed about 100,000 people) There are 12 archaeological sites in this valley alone. At one of the sites, travelers will learn that the bones of the dead from the high society were hung on a still-living 500-year-old banyan tree so the other tribes wouldn’t steal their bones to make weapons. Just a short drive down the road is the Hikokua archaeological site, the area for the low society, which lived near the bay. The villagers were buried here and the graves are still visible so the tribe used their bones as material to make everyday items. However the statue has a nice park and the views are awesome towards the bay or the mountains. Worth couple minutes walk to see some nice views though!

Was looking for cables for Guam. Cordage from here does just as well.

Gorgeous Tiki. A must see during your stay on Nuku Hiva. Possible access for people with reduced mobility because the path is cemented. Day and night access. Underground parking nearby
-
A monumental tiki built on the hill of tuhova on the site of the old fort collet. There is a beautiful view of the bay of nuku hiva. The statue is modern in style and is not unanimously accepted by the population.... it is not very shady but the place is pleasant
-
Place is clean, well maintained, there are tables to sit and enjoy a superb view of the bay. But the giant tiki sculpture is ugly, and it wasn't made by a Polynesian artist
