Touch a piece of history at Memorial of the Berlin Wall, the central memorial site of German division and reunification. At this open-air exhibit created in 1998, you'll learn why the country and the city were forcibly split for nearly three decades. The memorial incorporates a 60 m (200 ft) stretch of the original Berlin Wall, as well as the remains of several border installations and escape tunnels. At the visitors' center, you can pick up lots of materials detailing how the wall was created in the 1960s and dismantled in 1989. For a good view of the entire memorial grounds, climb up to the observation tower of the adjacent documentation center. Words cannot express the feeling that overwhelmed me while visiting this memorial. Make sure you have plenty of time to explore and read the riveting stories. This was by far 1 of my most epic places I've visited

So much history here. While the wall is no longer there, some original parts were, and there were several signs with pictures and historical information on them to explain the wall. I love history, but even those who don’t can appreciate this. The signs are easy to follow, clearly written, and even tell interesting stories about certain people. Highly recommend visiting this spot if you go to Berlin.

The witness of the painful moments of the memory of the city and the country. It is a place that keeps the spirit of that day alive, where you can see what happens when a neighborhood is torn from the middle and the other half is fatally banned. Its surroundings are very beautiful today and it is good that there is a museum now!

A great historical place you must give a visit while you are in Berlin. You can reach easily by tram from the city center. There is a small museum also across the street. The only think i didn t like was the ugly graffiti in some parts of the remaining wall. I definitely recommend this place.

Great place to get a perspective of the size of the wall, as well as read some small snippets about what life was like living near the wall. Didn’t take too long to walk the length of what was available, less than one hour spent comprehensively reading the plaques.
