The museum houses vast collections of prehistoric and ancient Egyptian artifacts. The building itself draws both art and architecture enthusiasts with its award-winning use of modern iron construction and original Neoclassical design. Originally built between 1843 and 1855, it was designed by architect Friedrich August Stuler. The museum was closed in 1939 and was heavily damaged during the bombing raids of the city. One of the best museums of antique art. Egyptian collection is impressive. Building as it it also interesting and has story behind, which they try to tell you from the text on the newly builded walls. I was enjoying several hours my trip through ages but will come back to explore more.

August 2022 • incredible museum! Loved the artifacts from Troy and all of the Egyptian history here as well. They have the bust of Nefertiti on display which was awesome to see. Timed tickets are required for this museum, so plan ahead and buy online!

One of the best museums in the world. The collections are amazing but wat really gets me is the magnificent building. At the same time you are in old buildings with bully holes from the war, combined with majestic new modern design of the new parts!! Avoid the cafeteria run by a nasty old bat! Get tickets in advance because you get a time slot for entry!

I have visited many museum all around the world but that one is definitely one of the best museums . The collections are amazing but what really gets me is the magnificent building and ambience matching the exhibitions. Highlight of the visit is the bust of Nefertiti. Absolutely in love.

One of my favourite museum on a Museum Island. There are very beautiful and various exhibits. There are collections of Egyptian art and antique collections. There you can find a statue of Nefertiti, sarcophagus, statues, ancient wall drawings and many other things. Museum is quite big, so plan a bit of time for it. It is very difficult to manage all museums from museum island in one day.
