The Focke Museum is the museum of history and the history of art for the city and state of Bremen. It was formed in 1924 by the merger of a museum of industry and commerce and the previous historical museum, and is named for the founder of the latter, Johann Focke (1848–1922), a Bremen privy councillor (German: Senatssyndikus) and father of Henrich Focke. It is located in 4.5 hectares (11 acres) of grounds in the Riensberg neighbourhood of the city. In addition to a main building which opened in 1964 and was extended in 2002, the museum complex includes buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

  • Interesting, must see in Bremen. Don't take a guide - take a solo journey through the museum. And don't miss some nice postcards close to exit. Min 1 hour to watch briefly, but plan for 2 hours, as there's interactive room also
  • Lovely museum and have a large garden that can be used for any activities.
  • Wonderful museum filled with Bremen history and art. Well maintained. Will take you about 2-3 hours if you like reading. No English plaques, but i think most would find it worth their time if visiting.
  • Great for seeing Bremen's very varied history. There is a lot to see, so if you want to see it all, plan for a couple of hours.
  • Loved it. So much history about Bremen.
