Create an itinerary including Schloss Augustusburg
Built on the ruins of a medieval moated castle, Schloss Augustusburg was commissioned by Archbishop-Elector of Cologne, Clemens August of Bavaria, in the early 18th century. With its interplay of ornate architecture, sculptures, and painting, it is a masterpiece of German Rococo. Enjoy a tour of the opulent palace to see the imposing staircase and charming frescoes and decoration. Though tours are mostly offered in German, an English audio guide can be purchased. Later, relax in the palace gardens, which are shared with Falkenlust Palace and were named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984 collectively with the two palaces. Use Klarna Trips's suggestions to plan your Bruhl trip and find the best activities and attractions for your vacation.

  • The building is impressive and nice to see, but the nicest part was the gardens and the woodland walk. A nice bit of peace.
