The ancient granite column, called the Blood Column, features a Latin inscription embedded in the wall above. If you are staying near the train station, old town, or Cologne Cathedral, it is about a 15 minute walk to Saint Gereon’s Basilica but worth the walk. The architectural design of the dome is stunning.... more

Having visited many of Colognes churches, this one was one of the best to see. Not really observable on three of its sides, you will need to cross the street.
