Overall great experience for this party of 1 adult and 3 kids ages 5, 3, and 1 years. I came here to break up the drive from the Black Forest (Triberg area) to our home in Rhinepfalz region, arrived on a Tuesday August morning not long after they opened at 10am. I had driven by the place the day before and wasn't able to see it clearly from the road so was unsure of where to park. We found the lot, which had ample signage indicating it was for the Park, but unfortunately I parked at the beginning of the lot (physically nearest to the entrance, as my kids are ticking time bombs when it comes to walking too long), not realizing we had to walk to the end of the lot and then cross the train tracks and walk all that distance back to the entrance. It was a hot sunny day and this walk had very little shade. Once we entered the kasse, we paid by credit card (15 euros for the 4 of us; kids were much cheaper than adults) and were given a key for a locker. We locked away our shoes but kept our backpack with our snacks and water. We then proceeded on the trail, which is a huge loop (with a few return paths if you choose to finish early) with a different sensory sensation every 200-400 meters or so. I'd say half of the path was shaded while the remainder was not. The stations were quite varied, enjoyable for all ages, clean, well maintained, and unique, some even beautiful to look at. The path was clear and well maintained, though the actual barefoot sensory variation was limited to various rocks, mulch, and mud, and had good signage indicating which way to go. There were no bathroom facilities other than those at the start of the trail. It was roughly 2km overall (not including the walk from the parking lot) and my 5yo did it without complaint but it was almost too much for the 3 year old. I wore the baby 75% of the time. One downside is that a lot of the features were too high for my 3yo and 1yo so I had to lift both of them up to see, smell, and touch most of the exhibits. After we finished the tour, we got ice cream at the kasse, which we ate at one of the ample seating areas. I believe we were there 2-3 hours total, and it was a great experience for all of us. Just could be more kid friendly in terms of small kids being able to access the features (stroller friendly would be great, though I know that is sort of contradictory to the nature of the park). Would also be great if they had more food options. A map would have been nice, and also would have appreciated the signs along the route telling you how much distance was left so you could decide if your kids could finish it or not when they start to complain. The shop did have gifts to purchase, soap and souvenirs for instance. I highly recommend coming here if you have a few hours to spend enjoying the outdoors!

Lovely park to visit with children. They invite you to visit it barefoot and feel all what sourrounds you. Very nice experience also with not so good weather.

Such a fun and interesting experience! We are so happy we went. The six year old loved the mud experiences and grandparents loved the sensory huts. Wonderful day!
-
Lovely and well maintained track, you can enjoy different types of soil under your feet, feel your way in the dark, hear different animals, and in addition to that you can also enjoy the beautiful meadows and the forest around the track!
-
Kids like walking in mud and guessing animals fur by touch. CATION must be taken as there are electric fences around the trail with no to minimal warn8ng signs. Very DANGEROUS!!
