We visited this memorial at the same time as our visit to the U-Boat, U-995 is just a 10 minutes drive up the coastline. It's in a beautiful spot overlooking Förde. Well worth the trip if you're in...

Take the ferry to Moltenort, then its a 5 minute walk to the memorial. Beautiful memorial and the number of names on the plarques is very sobering.

Arrived there around 5 pm, as stated by others parking really seems to be an issue here. The memorial is well maintained. Seeing all those names on the walls... Additionaly the view of the Kieler...

Very poignant experience

Very well maintained, I visited grandpa. A place of silence, right on the sea

Very interesting memorial, located directly on the Kiel Fjord. Very nicely laid out. Worth seeing place with history. For children just near the beach with all kinds of gastronomy. Access with caravans and parking difficult, Womo goes like this ~. It's best to park diagonally behind the Marienedenkmal. Direct path along the water, easy to walk and bike = 4/5km there.

anyone who thinks that other nations can fight for us is writing such a recession as cornelius hess. my father was on a submarine in kiel in 1944 and every war is cruel whether it makes sense or not. the philosophical question is, is humanity even able to get along without wars? Of course, all the names on the boards make me uneasy, but that's the way it was.

Anyone who has relatives who sank in a U-boat during World War II can commemorate them here. Anyone who thinks that the Bundeswehr can be deployed abroad again should come here and think about it for a moment.
