  • Fantastic experience. Lots to see, hear and do. Really friendly staff who encourage you to try the exhibits. Three levels of exhibits. Beautiful staircase.

  • We didn’t spent a lot of time at the museum but nevertheless it was quite informative about Mendelssohn and Fanny Hensel. Complementing the static displays were a number of interactive components.

  • The kusstos was perfect and very interesting. They kept the originality of the house. The Music room with loudspeakers is must see. We had a private concert which was great. Everything was good experience. Very memorable one.
  • It is incredible. I highly recommend the Mendelssohn-Haus to everyone visiting Leipzig even if you aren't Fan of classical music/Mendelssohn himself. Original staircase from the 1800s, his exquisite apartment with original furniture, lots of stories and history.. At the same time SO modernised where you can try conducting his piece with high technology. Visit this instead of Bach museum!
  • The Mendelssohn Haus was better than I expected. We were there for just under 2 hours, and were able to see everything. I even conducted some of his work in their virtual concert hall. Very cool!
  • Of all the 'haus' devoted to composers in Leipzig this is by far the best. Take time to learn about the Mendelssohn siblings and wider family, and about their travelling. All in all, an enlightening and moving experience
  • I loved this museum. I felt like it was designed with great care. It had wide appeal - captivating my husband (a musician) and myself (not a musician). It had a very intimate and homey feel. Being able to read some of the diary entries and the movie of their home concerts stood out as particularly memorable. I believe the Mendelssohn's would be very pleased.
