Statue of Mephisto and Faust, Leipzig

The Mädler-Passage is beautiful gallery completed in 1914 with numerous commercial activities and the statues of Faust and Mephisto.

The bronze statues "Faust and Mephisto" in the Mädler-Passage are worth seeing. You are right at the exit to the Auerbachskeller not far from the old town hall. From here you can easily reach the whole city center with its sights on foot. The connection to public transport is also great. Conclusion: A must for every visit to Leipzig.

These two sculptures stand in front of Auerbach's cellar and refer to the text in Goethe's Faust and the episode in Auerbach's cellar. A visit to the cellar is part of a visit to Leipzig, I think. Reservation is recommended!

The statues are impressive. They represent the first moment in which Mephistopheles takes Faust on his travels. They mark the entrance to the Auerbach Keller restaurant, which is the second oldest in Leipzig and mentioned in Goethe's work.
