The 500-step, 91 m (299 ft) tall Volkerschlachtdenkmal commemorates the 1813 Battle of Leipzig. You can take breaks at various spots on the way up to the viewing platform. Alternatively, you can take the elevator all or some of the way. You'll be reminded of this bloody battle's fatalities at the crypt, which is adorned by eight large statues of fallen warriors. Continue upward to the hall of fame. The four statues here represent historic qualities ascribed to the German people: bravery, faith, sacrifice, and fertility. Once you reach the viewing platform, you will be rewarded with spectacular views across the city. Beautiful, but must take ~320 steps to reach to the top of the building, the path and steps can be narrow. But you can get a good town view from the top. Must visit landmark while you in Leipzig:) We went on a weekend just right after opening at 10am- less crowded & peacefully explored, around 11-12pm we saw big crowd coming.

I liked the museum very much. Leipzig is a must-see museum. It is a very impressive and explanatory museum. Germany's confrontation with its war history has been very effective. He should learn such lessons. I recommend it to anyone who visits Leipzig. It is a worth seeing place. The interior of the monument should definitely be visited. If you want to capture beautiful photo frames, I recommend you to visit it in the afternoon.

I must say the monument was very impressive. Entrance was 10 euros with an extra 2 euros for the audio guide. I would recommend that you take the audio guide as it gives you so much more information. The audio guide is available in English. There are 350 plus steps to get to the top but the views of Leipzig are spectacular. The museum covers the battle itself. This is where the audio guide really does come into it's own. It gives a view from the people that lived in Leipzig at the time of the battle and explains some of the exhibits and the reason for the battle. We spent approximately 3 hours here and another 40 minutes at cafe at the other end of the monument

If you're a person who is in to monuments, history and culture, this is definitely one of those places you should visit. The monument has several levels, most of them are accessible through a lift. Senior citizens and people who have trouble climbing stairs can avoid taking the stairs. The last level is accessible only via a narrow staircase. €10 every fees. Clean toilets available.

Beautiful place to visit which has historical significance. The stairs to go up on the top deck are round. It's a amazing experience to visit the Monument. It has a big park in the surrounding which adds its beauty 😍. There are very big stone statues and colorful murals inside the Monument. The view of Leipzig city from the top deck is just mesmerizing.
