Take in a true European market experience at Wochenmarkt Muenster, Münster's market. The stalls primarily sell food and flowers, but you can also find crafts and textiles. Work up an appetite browsing baked goods, eggs, seafood, meat, spices, honey, cheeses, pasta, fruits, and candy. Once you're sufficiently hungry, stop for a bite to eat at one of the covered cafe stalls. The pea soup and frankfurter is a particularly popular option. Hit the ATM beforehand, because the majority of stalls only accept cash. Put Wochenmarkt Muenster on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Muenster trip itinerary planner.

  • Drove in for 9am to beat some of the crowds. Had to wait 5mins for a parking space right next to the market but more parking is available a short distance away. Well worth a visit, so much fresh food - fish, meats, bread and pastries as well as plants (both cut flowers and growing ones!) It got a lot busier after 10am so arrive early if you can. The rest of Munster was also great to have a stroll around
  • It's quite expensive. Produce is fresh depending on which vendor you go to. They start early in the morning and wrap up mostly by 12:00/13:00 hrs. They mostly only accept cash.
  • Amazing huge farmer's market every Saturday and Wednesday.
  • The biweekly farmers market of Münster is the perfect opportunity to get fresh and often local produce to prices, if you chose the right place to buy, that put supermarkets to shame. There is a wide variety of everything from the simple to the exotic. Add to that the many foodstalls that carter to almost any taste and you have a perfect example of what a market should be.
  • Best fresh produce, meats, hams, sausages, cheeses, breads, seafood, Asian spices, flowers, herbs, delicacies, fruits, juices and a galore of others anywhere!! 👏👏👏👌 Of course you can buy a little cheaper at supermarket or discounters, however the variety, freshness and friendliness of merchants makes it worth to become a regular visitor.
