Kaiserburg Nurnberg
Visit one of the most important imperial residences of the Middle Ages at Kaiserburg Nurnberg. The hilltop sandstone castle complex and the ancient walls surrounding the city are considered one of the most effective medieval war systems in Europe. You can tour the imperial apartments to admire original 16th-century décor. You also can visit the castle's Romanesque double chapel with Gothic ornamentation. Enjoy the city views with a beverage at the beer garden adjacent to the castle. Wow, wow, wow. Excellent castle visit to the Imperial Castle. Located at the top of a hill, overlooking the city of Nuremberg, the Imperial Castle is reached after a serious climb uphill. Not difficult for the fully able ,it is a long rather arduous slog up to the courtyard. *******,Handicap VERY difficult , if not impossible, not made any easier by the cobblestone road .*********( that said, I did see a gentleman with a walker!!!) The museum entry is 7 Euros, 6 if you are a senior or a student. Wow----super excellent presentation and displays of the medieval history of this castle 🏰. Armaments, armor, clothing, artifacts, explanations and visuals were superb. One of the best. Great value for the money!!!! Restaurant in the courtyard BEST VIEWS OF NUREMBERG. PHOTO OP ++++++!!!!!! Restrooms available. Free brochures. Recommended highly 👌 👍 👏 Final take . Prep yourself for the climb up but well worth it Go

Beautiful castle over looking Nuremberg. Great views from the top. Beautiful fort and buildings. We did not fully go inside, but walked around on the outside. Enjoyed the visit and the walk.

Very impressive castle. A capital of European Kings from 11 till 16 centuries. Place where Holy Roman empire was ruled from. Building itself is really big on the top of the hill. Views around are amazing. Very strongly recommended!

The outside structure of the castle is really nice to take a stroll around, however I don’t think there’re much to see inside the paid area, since 70% of the castle was destroyed during WWII. There’s only one room that’s well preserved, other are just texts and objects. If you decide to pay for the ticket, I do recommend to visit the TOWER & the deep WELL as well. The view is really nice up there.

Beautiful castle! Like most historic things in Europe, under construction... But still very beautiful to walk around. The interior was closed, whether for the day or just temporarily I'm not sure, but you can still walk the grounds, enjoy the view overlooking the city, and see all of the architecture. Highly recommend a tour, we didn't have one but passed by a few that were sharing some very interesting facts!
