Create an itinerary including SEA LIFE Oberhausen
A home for injured seals and other endangered sea life, marine sanctuary SEA LIFE Oberhausen is open to the public. During peak hours, the aquarium allows only 30 visitors at a time into each viewing area, so visit right at opening to avoid these crowds. All the tanks have inside viewing areas that make a great escape from chilly, rainy weather. Book a ticket online to save time at the door so you can head straight to the seals, turtles, and penguins. • This is a really nice aquarium in downtown Oberhausen. It's mainly geared towards a younger crowd (namely children), but it's still great for adults to accompany. The place is nice and clean and there's quite a bit of sea life to see throughout. On top of that, the staff is very knowledgeable and is happy to answer questions you may have about the various species that are on display. The whole aquarium is well laid out and easy to get through, and takes about 1 hour if you're moving quickly to 2 hours if you are really going through super slowly. There's tons of activities, hands on displays, and interesting things to do along the way, so it never gets boring at anytime. I would highly recommend this place for young children. They will love it and you will likely learn something while you're there too. The only negative is that the gift shop is pretty terrible. It's basically all stuffed animals, with no books or anything to further your learning. That was a big disappointment.
  • The whole design of the Sea Life helps people to be close to the ocean animals plus be educated to cherish our nature environment. I highly recommend to visit it with family or friends especially kids as they can have the ocean feeling without being on a beach . Comparing with aquarius in zoos , here it provides more interactions and extremely close view with the ocean animals. I enjoy it a lot !
  • What can I say.... Fantastic... It's far better than the one in Great Yarmouth...it's larger and it has far more sea Animals...which surprised me as Great Yarmouth is by the sea .... Staff are friendly and the animals seem to be well looked after ....10 stars from the Family we all loved it ... I can definitely recommend this establishment.
  • Nice place with different varieties of fishes. You can blacktip reef shark, star fish, jellyfish, sea horse, small whales, Nemo fish, octopus, orchids, piranha, ray fish, puffer fish, crab, salmon, bluegill, sea otter, swordfish, eel fish, anchovy fish, tetra fish, tortoise axolotl, ray fish etc Ticket price per person is 21 euros. As soon as you enter the aquarium it stinks a little, later it will be fine. Its a internal aquarium with well maintained fishes. You have a free guid in the center of the hall, in each floor who will be explaining about the fishes and their behavior. Well maintained public restrooms. Resting chairs in every corner of the aquarium. Taking pictures, videos and eating food is allowed. At the end while you are returning you have toys and gift shop, snack & food shops, vending machine, virtual reality game, resting tables and lift. You can also leave the kids stroller near the entrance to avoid the traffic.
  • Nice aquarium, with some very interesting species, including small sharks, but gets crowded especially on Saturday... Great for kids, plenty of photos... You can buy a combined ticket with Legoland
