Altstadt, part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, is one of the best-preserved medieval and Renaissance towns in Europe and spans 80 hectares (198 acres). Stroll through the cobbled streets to admire the 1,200 half-timbered buildings from the 14th to 20th century. Visit the Church of St. Servatius, considered to be a Romanesque architectural masterpiece, where you can see the graves of the first German King, King Henry I, and his wife, Mathilde.     We loved to walk around Altstadt and it's lovely streets. Market Place was pretty and nice, also fresh food market was a good surprise on Saturday morning.

    This is a very tourist based place. But there is a lot of history and architecture that is amazing here. There is quite a bit to look at. With restaurants around the market platz.
