The fact that the 12th-century Old Stone Bridge is still standing is a tribute to medieval engineering. The bridge above the Danube links the old town with Stadtamhof. Its Bruckmandl statue was erected in the middle of the 16th century. He is said to symbolize the city's freedoms and its emancipation from the control of the Bishop. Be sure to take some photos here on what is arguably the emblem of Regensburg. Plan to visit Old Stone Bridge during your Regensburg vacation using our convenient Regensburg vacation planner.

  • Last time I was here, it was freezing cold, with lots of wind. This visit was cool and pleasant to cross and enjoy the architecture involved in it.

  • Exceptionally well constructed bridge originally build in 10th century. Along with the Regensburg Cathedral , the Stone Bridge is the most important building in Regensburg . With the bridge man, the stone bridge had a well-known landmark very early on, whose original meaning was disputed and whose popularity has remained until today. Open to pedestrian and cyclists Beautiful views of Regensburg Germany Amazing photo opportunity 1st stone bridge in Europe 🌍 Connects the islands in the Danube with downtown Final take....must go in Regensburg.
  • Make sure to visit this old stone bridge for a great view of the whole area. You can walk underneath the bridge, just be careful as it has no rails and there is danger of falling in the river. The area around the bridge offers some great restaurants and walking trails.
  • The interesting thing about this Stone Bridge (Steinerne Brücke in German) is that it is one of the oldest bridges in Germany and an important Romanesque building in Regensburg. According to the natives of Regensburg, the bridge is shrouded in legend
  • Old bridge over Danube - historical value. Worth to see because there is a nice view over the city.
  • This is the main attraction to see in Regensburg. The bridge itself seems to recently have been cleaned or renovated, as the bricks seem to shine in the sun. The bridge links both sides of the historical city center to each other. It also offers great sunset shots over the Danube.
