Wernigerode Castle, Wernigerode

This castle is located in the top of a hill, having a magnificent view towards the town of Wernigerode. The garden of the castle and the view are the best sights of the castle. The castle indoors is nice, well preserved, but you should do not expect to see a palace. There are more luxury castles in Vienna or elsewhere. Also, the whole castle architecture is asymmetrical and that's also beautiful and creative. It gives a mysterious and kind of dark sense to me. For sure it worth a visit combined with a visit to the town underneath which is also very picturesque.

Well worth the visit. We were not sure what to expect of Wernigerode but we were absolutely blown away by this castle. Such an incredible building inside and out. I would recommend paying to see the inside as it's really impressive.

The castle is very well kept. The rooms available are dining hall, bedrooms, chapel. There is a cute snack restaurant where coffee and ice cream are available. On a clear day, you can view the town from the castle. To get here, we booked a taxi from our hotel and then agreed with the driver on a pickup time.

Nice little Hof. Crazy thing is the number of tourists are low and you can enjoy the beautiful city with the locals. Beautiful, colorful small trains to the castle, the medieval time buildings send you back to those times. 100% recommended

Nice place to visit. We walked from the city centre until the castle which was about 2-3 km. There was to the castle is nice as you have to walk uphill between woods. The castle itself looks unique and old. The view from the courtyard of castle is beautiful.
