Venetian Castle of Santorini, Akrotiri

Fun little adventure exploring this little castle in Akrotiri. I walked by one morning around 8:30a and it was locked up but happened to be open this afternoon after lunch. Only takes 20 minutes or so to walk around and take some pics up high over looking both sides of the island. Beautiful pics of a little chapel as well.

Situated on the mountains of Santorini this beautiful Venetian villa has breathtaking views of the island and surrounding ocean. Located within walking distance to local shops and interesting sites. The host was very friendly and accommodating. The place is clean and has a warm welcoming feel.

It’s a nice little ruins of a castle. You have to hike up to it, but there are wonderful views of both sides of the island once you’re up there. It’s a mix of the classic whitewash paint, old dark stone ruins, and then the sea and Greek flag. Great for photos and for people who like to explore. It would be great if they’d restore it!

A small, ruined castle. It's a nice climb and gives you a good view of the surrounding town. No amenities or bathrooms at this location. No information/signage about the history of the location, which would be a nice addition.

Great view point, however, no information on the castle at all. Big parking location nearby with a short walk up hill via some steps.
