Ammoudara Beach, Agios Nikolaos

A very nice, sandy beach near Agios Nikolaos. During our stay, the sea was calm and warm. The beach is easily accessible from the main road, there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available. We recommend to wear water shoes, as there are some stones in the water.

The Beach is very nice. It is sandy, but in the sea there are stones. We used the shoes for the water. Sometimes we couldn’t swim, because it was too windy.

Beach chairs are available free of charge if you order drinks or food (e.g. in Full mezze). The sea was warm and clean. The stones in the sea are marked with yellow buoys. The beach and beach chairs were not crowded, except on Sunday.

This is the worst beach I've ever been on.. I gave it one star because I couldn't give 0. It's very very dirty, just one or two beach bars, no places to shower, the wooden pantoon is broken and the bridge over the small 'river' is closes.

The dirtiest beach in Crete I have been to. It is very long, so it depends where exactly you will go. It has nicer spots, mainly in front of the many beach bars with rented parasols and sun beds - there it is cleaner. However, the free areas are full of trash, at least close to where we stayed. The beach is close to some industrial facilities of Heraklion which make the view ugly. The sea was wavy and I think it is very often very wavy as there is no bay.
