  • At the top of mount skopos, you can find the rebuilt temple of Panagia Skopiotissa at the place which the ancient temple of Goddess Diana was situated.

  • Monastery is great. You can go inside and walk around. Such a beautiful place. Views are awesome. Unfortunately the road to go there is terrible. A lot of bends. I don’t recommend if anyone has...

  • An amazing experience with stunning views... but be aware that it will take some confident driving on slightly rocky off road sections with no tar. You can get there with a car, but it can be a bit bumpy. Also, if you're coming from the south or west of the island, take note that despite what Google Maps says, DO NOT try and get there from the west side (via Vrontonero Beach). You must go via Argassi side which is approaching from the east and heading west up the hill. It's a beautiful old monastery set on a hill with amazing views. It's like stepping back in time. There's a guy who runs a refreshment stop near the top. We drove by it, intending to stop there on the way back, but when we got to the top, he arrived a few minutes after us and opened up the Chapel for us to go in and take some photos. It was beautiful. Then if you walk up the hill a little from the monastery, there is an amazing view to the east. Despite the road up the hill, it's a visit that is well worth doing.
  • The best things in life are free. Escape the never ending shops selling plastic Turtles, escape from the constant noise from scooters and quad bikes. Pack a rucksack with some snacks and plenty of water and spend an afternoon climbing into silent bliss, and take a trip back in time and enjoy the amazing views.
  • Wonderful place. Stunning views. It's difficult to get there, don't try it with a rental car. You can walk but it's a climb to reach it, it will take you 1 and a half to 2 hours. A 4X4 will do the job.
  • Great place to visit. The monastery was open when we were there, we could walk around and enjoy the buildings by ourselves, atmosphere and unforgettable panoramic views on both Kefalonia and Peloponnese. Main church is well kept with ancient paintings and unique atmosphere. We found a visitors book in the small building to the left of the entrance, 1st floor (up the woden stairs), and left a record too. Bad part: the road to the monastery is dangerous, rocks and gravel, good 4×4 car and expert driving skills. We were just lucky to make the journey on a rented car.
  • Beautiful building in a stunning spot came during the golden hour so monastery was closed but the views were enhanced with stunning sunset. Carry a torch if up there at sunset.
