  • Lovely museum with a lots of information and beautiful showrooms made perfectly for each period. Lots to see, cheap tickets, very close to underground station.

  • An authentic "must" for a visit in Athens, specially for all history and art lovers. Very well organized and explained collection going through all the ages of Byzantine civilisation and Greek orthodox culture. A special highlight goes to the collection of Icons spared from the iconoclast time. Strongly recommend
  • Excellent museum collection, maybe the greatest around! At first I thought it would just cover the 11 centuries of the Byzantine Empire, but it had some bits regarding early Christianity during Roman times, and also documentation and exhibits during the Greek revolution. The ambiance of the museum was such that really helps you immerse and enjoy the collection. Personally, it was as if i travelled back in time! And all that, for only an entrance of 8€!!! My boyfriend and I dedicated around 2 hours. We also enjoyed a limited photo exhibition that was going on, the theme was Christians of Aithiopia—it was great! Definitely recommend a visit to this museum! I’m sure I’ll be going back!
  • An excellent place to visit to learn about the Byzantine era of the Greek civilization. The museum is very professionally and ergonomically designed to follow a chronological flow from the division of Roman empire to Western and Eastern Holy empires up to the fall of Constantinople and beyond.
  • The museum has a nice yard with a cafe and for Athens it’s really nice to see some spaciousness:) marble sculptures are awesome - you never tell that those come from 11th century! Very educational visit 👍
  • One of the most beautiful museums in Athens, we enjoyed every moment, full of history from the Byzantine period, definitely worth this conference, you can find items from 300 something you will not find anywhere else in the world, highly recommended for families, the staff at the museum was very friendly, admission is not very high and worth it Definitely the exhibit in the museum
