Gavdos Lighthouse, Gavdos

Pretty nice isolated small island with beautiful sandy beaches with clear and crystal waters and sandhills. The accomodation options are not many on the island, but free camping is an option. It has also traditional taverns with good food and cozy cafe, the island is a good choice for quiet, alternative holidays.

Beautiful place. An island without civilization. If you are searching for peaceful holiday this is the perfect place.

A paradise ! Beaches sea sky and nature is amazing ! In June it was almost empty and you can camp for free everywhere looking an amazing sky and feel the magic. In July/august start coming a lot of people , start to be very hot ,crowdy , and most of them don't have any respect for that beauty leaving garbage everywhere and making noise all night long. Water (there is no drinkink water on the isalnd) and food are a more expensive compared to Krete. May June and from half of september until october/november is the best to visit this amazing magic island if you love nature and quiet places.

Island is ok, nature is great. But unfortunately we had a very dissapointing and stress adding experience with the people working on the island. They seem to hate visitors, tourists or anyone. They are not only rude and unprofessional but very hostile! I heard them actually complain loudly about people coming to the island, about the boats, about tourists, about the people who actually pay for their services; and the people complaining are living from...guess what? TOURISM! This attitude that they display so eargerly has no justification, no logic and they take out their personal frustrations onto others. I expect this to improve and change A LOT/ asap! Also bragging about not getting vaccinated. And many other issues, with cleaniness, hygiene, food quality.

Pieceful island far from civilization. There is no need to go around​ by car or motorbike since there are local buses. If you love hiking this island is ideal for it. The island also attracts many naturists where free camping is not forbidden in some isolated beaches.
