Dinosauria Park (Greek: Ο Κόσμος των Δεινοσαύρων, O Kosmos ton Dinosauron) is a dinosaur park located near the town of Gournes in Crete, Greece, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) east of the city of Heraklion. The park features some fossil replicas and several animatronic dinosaur models. Dinosaur models are displayed along an approximately 500 metres (1,600 ft) long walk, each accompanied by an information board.

The Dinosauria Park started as an idea in 2013 and was first housed in Gournes Δekk, located in the former American base. It displayed 30 different dinosaur species from all periods of the Mesozoic era and other prehistoric animals.

In 2014 the exhibits were transferred to their own space, in which they were displayed in what would have been their natural environment. New species of dinosaurs were added, along with new sections, such as a "dinosaur hospital", depicting the hatching of a dinosaur egg. A "5D" cinema screen shows films to visitors.

  • Excellent escape for families with small children, age 3+ I would say, especially if those children like dinosaurs will be thrilled! Try to avoid Sundays if possible so that It will not be overcrowded! We came on a Monday and it was excellent, easy parking, not too many visitors and we were not so much concerned with covid due to that.
  • We went with our 3year old kid on a sunny day. Our review is based on our experiences there. Would list it out as what we liked and what needs definitely further improvements. Likes: - Staff was very friendly mostly organized - The park is moderate size and pretty well shaded with planted trees and man made shades - the dinosaurs replicas are quite to real sizes when they existed, with details of their existence - for kids having interest in Dinos, have new things to explore and learn like Dino hospital was one of them - 5D Movie is good experience. What need improvements: - during our planetarium show, the video froze 2-3 times and went off completely twice, did not return until someone went to complaint. Video quality was just ok - At Dino Hospital, the lady spoke while wearing mask and no Mic, with background Dino noise, we hardly understood what she said. Definitely needs to better this. - Toy train ride was very short. - Entry Tickets, for Golden tickets they charge same price for a kid 3y and above as adults, this seems not reasonable to the service what they are currently offering. To the point, the tickets for either accompanying adult or kid must have some kind of combo to make it reasonable or charge full prices above 5-6years onwards. An understanding level of 3-4years old is definitely not there to what they are offering there. - at entry they don't tell you that you can also separately buy tickets for some areas like Science exhibition or even 5D, which you can buy on spot. Overall we were forced to rate in average category, as the experience never went to wow. We spent 60€ for 2adult and 1 kid and felt not worth/overpriced. Recommended for bigger kids if they offer full prices as adults, for 3-4years kids, especially for Golden tickets, needs to be better.
  • Visited here while on holiday from the UK. Our 3 children really enjoyed looking at all the dinosaurs and learning about them. Cost around €50 for a family of 4 (our youngest was free) The train at the end was the only disappointing part. Paid extra and it was just this tiny fair like ride that went in a circle. The children could barely fit on it 😂
  • Dinosauria is a great place to spend a few hours with your young ones! It combines an indoor and outdoor space with plenty of dinosaurs that many of them offer some basic movements and sounds to create a more realistic experience. There is a science exhibition that I would only recommend for parents of older children and the planetarium that is aimed mainly for children of primary school, both the science exhibition and planetarium have an extra charge to go in, you can pay it all as part of a package at the start or later on after you come in the park. At the end of the park there is a nice outdoor play area for young children and a nice coffee and food place with plenty shade. I would advise against visiting the park during the hot summer hours between 12.00-16.00 as it gets really warm and you might not enjoy the outdoor space so much. You should visit either first thing in the morning when the park opens, or later in the afternoon.
  • Good place if kids are into dinos. We had a 3year old and he enjoyed the park, the hospital and was maybe partial to the cinema. He liked the sand places as well, were he could dig for bones. The grandmother's liked it as well. Fun extra activity besides going to the beach. You do need to love dinos to enjoy it :)
