Gramvousa Beach, Gramvousa

It's beautiful but they pack way too many people onto this small beach. They need to limit the number of boats that drop people off at the same time. The hike up to the ruins is relatively easy. Good steps and foothold's.

Very nice experience to clime all the way up to the fortress for pictures. The clime all the way up from the boat and down to the boat takes approximately 1 hour depending on each individual phisical condition, time for photo stops and if it is crowded. I was in a hurry. I recommend special trekking shoes for harsh terrain, there are a lot of stones, very dusty and slippery rocks/terrain.

This is a trip to paradise so try not to miss it. There are daily cruises that make the trip Gramvousa island and Balos beach in a day! You can visit here the venetian fortress or you can swim the turquoise waters. Bring water, sun blocking cream your diving mask and a snorkel. Water shoes are also not a bad idea. If you have an umbrella bring it as well otherwise you need to be fast and lucky to get some shade under a tree. I Highly recommend this place but expect that many more will be visiting this place so prefer a smaller boat to avoid congestion.

The place is wonderful, crystal water, magical scenery, but not to be on a crowded ferry. The beach is overcrowded with people from non stop coming ferries. I would be back one day but on a rented boat and away from big boats. I enjoyed swimming there- a lot of interesting fish.

So beautiful colors of water. Rocks and sand on the beach. Umbrella is a good idea because there is no shadows, so temperature can be very high.
