Pass through Corinth Canal, one of the world's tightest navigable waterways, which separates the Peloponnese Peninsula from the rest of the Greek mainland. Before the canal's completion at the end of the 19th century, ships sailing between the Adriatic and the Aegean had to circumnavigate the peninsula, adding nearly 320 km (180 mi) to their journey. The waterway is just over 6 km (4 mi) long and only 21 m (70 ft) wide. Much too narrow to accommodate modern ocean freighters, this channel now mostly services tourist ships, attracting curious visitors from around the world. Sailed through here and it’s absolutely amazing. The scale is difficult to appreciate and you can see the tool marks which were made during its construction. Stupendous!

Amazing place to see; also offer bungee jumping, easy to reach, just take the bus from Loutraki to Corinth. The view really is magnificent especially if you’re lucky to catch ships passing through

I read about this Canal at the elementary school, it was is so many years ago, and now I am here just looking at it’s magnificence and beauty. If you pass by close to the Canal, do not forget to spend some minutes to look at it, there are some places nearby to park your car and walk through the bridge to admire its beauty and if you are lucky you will watch a boat sailing by. Try to be just some minutes before the sunset, you will not forget the beautiful landscape full of all those golden colours.

Incredible engineering. We visited the canal from above, using the vehicle and pedestrian bridges. Lots of parking available, making it a very east side trip to or from Athens.

Nice view, dust road on one side of canal. We can't found canal boat trip departure.

It's not a place that you will visit for a long time, but it's beautiful and very interesting! I recommend it

Plenty of parking at the side of the bridge but it gets awfully crowded with tour busses too. Seems that every tour company makes this an essential visit spot. For those who has fear of heights it may be quite nerve wrecking. Bridge is quite narrow, about 4 feet wide. The floor is held together with thin metal sheets. You can feel tremors every time a heavy vehicle passes through. For the thrill seekers there is a bungee jumping here. View is incredible though. Photos does not do justice- does not show how majestic the depth and size until you see it right there. If time is permitted drive a few minutes to the mouth of the canal to compare the heights.
