Create an itinerary including Village of Lindos
A small town with a mix of rich history and sandy beaches, Village of Lindos was established by the Dorians about 3,000 years ago (though local legend claims the settlement was founded long before that by one of Zeus' divine sons). Although it contains an age-old acropolis, the town's main attraction remain its traditional whitewashed buildings and pedestrian-friendly backstreets. Pick up a free map at the tourist information center and take a self-guided tour through the narrow streets, lined by well-preserved medieval buildings and small taverns. Visiting beachgoers outnumber the town's tiny population in the morning, so wait to get some sand between your toes until afternoon, when tourist buses depart for the next destination.
