Although a bit crowded during weekends of September, I loved the beach because of crystal clear and always calm water, stunning view of mountains and nice restaurants. The beach is great for paddleboarding (SUP) because of the beautiful cost and nearby island you may want to explore, SUP rental is available. Of you feel like beautiful organized beach with all services, this is the place for you and your kids.

Our family has come here every time we are in Greece for longer than I’ve been alive (the last three generations) and we can’t get enough of it. The water is very calm making it enjoyable to go for long swims that are relaxing. The view is stunning, food is amazing, and the only downside is how busy it is. As the years have gone on the beach has continuously gotten busier, and now it feels more developed than ever. It has still maintained its charm though, and it’s best if you can get there early in the morning or later in the afternoon/evening because it’s not quite as hot, and there are less people so it’s easier to get a chair. It’s also nice that they have 2 chairs and an umbrella for 8 euros. Highly recommended if you are close to Chania!

This is a very nice beach and has many taverns and restaurant’s to choose from, and a nice little beach cafe in the harbour. It is possible to rent standup paddle boards, kayaks, pedal boats and motor boats very easily from a vendor on the beach, and there are other options for motor boats etc. along the roadside. It can get very busy here at weekends as it’s very popular!

A very clean and picturesque place, with fine sand and calm waters. It is easy to reach by car, as it’s a 30 minutes drive from Chania. It has a lot of cafes and restaurants. It is small, so it is crowded during the peak season.

Came here because all over the island red flags were at all beaches because the sea was agitated. Here we found a calm sea with clear water and a lovely beach. Decent prices: 8€ sunbeds for 2 persons, 4€ parking, 3.1€ bottled Mythos 0.5L.
