Create an itinerary including The Windmills (Kato Milli)
The Windmills (Kato Milli) are the first thing approaching ships see on arrival to Mykonos. Many of the windmills were constructed by the Venetians in the 16th century. From the time they were built until the mid-20th century, these structures fueled the local economy by grinding wheat. Although the mills' grinding days are over, they remain much loved by the locals. Just below this spot you'll find cafes and restaurants that serve local fare where you can admire a view of the windmills and the sea. Although you cannot enter the windmills, you can approach them for photographs. • Great for a photoshoot for all the obvious reasons, and it great that there’s no vendors or tacky shops trying to seek you junk. Avoid if there’s cruise ships in because it can be very busy with...

  • What's a visit to Mykonos without seeing the windmills. They have been nicely restored and are so majestic up on the hill with the ocean setting behind.

  • This is the perfect picture spot in Mykonos! The windmills look amazing and it's also a really nice place to find some share and get shelter from the sun. Near the first windmill there's also a souvenir shop which sells more unique things than other shops in the old town so I would recommend checking it out. Also there are a few places around that sell water so stock up here instead of going somewhere more expensive!
  • Just beautiful! An iconic place to visit if you are in the area. Various local vendors and other restaurants available. Plenty of parking space available. Very clean and safe 👌
  • Very windy, fine place to watch sunset. It will get crowded when sun is setting so go a little early if you want a nice picture with the windmills. Parking looked like a nightmare (which may be normal for busy Mykonos) but I walked there so I didn't have to deal with that! Right up the hill from little Venice.
  • Busy when the crew ships are in town, but it’s a must see spot for sunset with a beautiful view of the harbors, mountains in the distance, and little Venice. Free to enter. Quick to walk around, but windy as anything!
  • If you visit Mykonos Greece you have to visit the windmills of Mykonos. Located right on the beach into center of local restaurants bars and tourist stores alike. Here you will find some of the most authentic food in Mykonos and the freshest fish in the sea. You will get lots of picture opportunities but be sure to bring a jacket if you plan on being here after the sun goes down because it will get chilly. It’s windy in the day so perfect for a sundress picture or a Windy shirt for the guys.
