You'll encounter some of the best views of Budapest and the Danube at Liberty Statue, home to the Citadella, a World Heritage Site. This hillside played host to several vineyards in the 18th century and currently features several embassies and expensive homes. The reigning Habsburg Austrians built the citadel atop the hill after the Hungarian revolts of 1948 and 1949. Hike to the fortress at the summit of this 235 m (771 ft) rock hill for views of the city below. Well worth the quite steep climb to the top, which is well paved, to take in the beautiful views. Shame the monument is still shut due to renovations but you can still get quite close to get...

Lovely walk. The top was being renovated but still loved the view from the gates. I had a mulled wine whilst walking up to the top. The views are amazing during the day. We'll worth the visit.

Great views over Budapest and the Danube. Worth the climb (which really isn’t that bad!). It was a shame the monument wasn’t open.

One of the must-sees on your Budapest trip. Beautiful panoramic view. Unfortunately, the memorial closed for renovations, but we were still able to enjoy the breathtaking views of this magnificent city. Good place to go for trekking.

A healthy hike up the hill with very nice panorama views of the city. The statue is sadly currently (July 30, 2022) under maintenance with a fence around it, but you can still get a decent look at it! Overall definitely worth the climb.

Awesome panoramic views in the view ponta available as you climb (hills and stairs). It’s worth the healthy and long climb but the place where the actual Liberty Statue is, in the very top of the hill, is closed off with a fence all around it. People walk around it by holding on the the fence and risking their lives. Not for the faint of heart but if you like living dangerously, by all means do it :)

One of Budapest main attractions. Sadly it is closed for renovation as of October 2022. Still it's worth it to walk through the park and hike up the hill to catch a panoramic view of the city

One of the kind off must visit view point in the city. Good place and one of the best location to have a panoramic view of the city. Lots of local stalls present to buy momentos to carry back home. Pleasant view but usually bustling with people.
