  • We were recommended to this museum by an Icelander who grew up in this town. Turns out, the receptionist taking our entrance fee is the niece of the person who recommended this! I'm guessing these...

  • Small but interesting museum about the french fishermen who used to fish in the fjords
  • Excellent museum and great staff. A bit hard to find (they need to buy a big sign!) but very much worth it
  • Fascinating stop in the Eastfjords, very well made and instructive. We learned so much about our ancestors! Highly recommended.
  • This museum is located in two stately buildings, the Doctor's House and the French Hospital as they are called, built by the French fishermen around 1900. However, the main attraction of the exhibition is situated in a tunnel that connects the two buildings. The entrance to the museum is from the hotel reception area in the Doctor's House. In the museum, the interesting history and legacy of the French sailors in Iceland is shown by means of the latest multimedia technology.
  • From outside a small place but inside a huge exhibition. It is a very detailed and interesting museum, made with a lot of 'love'. The guide took all his time to answer every question and to explain every detail. I was very impressed.
