  • What a great experience! The caves are magical, but the guide was awesome! What a great storyteller with knowledge of the caves and the surrounding area. We would like to recommend everyone to stop...

  • Stefan was really informative and kept the tour interesting. He explained things well and took time to answer questions. Worth a stop in of you're passing by.

  • Stefan was a really informative and charismatic guide. We booked this tour as the weather wasn't great, so didn't know what to expect going in, but came out of the tour impressed with the experience.....  more

  • Drove past and made a note to return and do a tour which we did, very interesting and informative, takes around an hour and involves a small amount of walking, our tour was only 6 people plus the guide so lots of opportunities for questions. The caves are fairly large so claustrophobia shouldn't be an issue, they are 4°C all year around so dress warm, they are dry though.
  • Had the best time! Such a cool tour - the first cave is a little small if you get claustrophobic, but the others are much larger and you’re not going deep underground, just into the hillside. Loved the history lessons.
  • Had a great time on this tour on Oct. 7. It was during the day on a Friday, so there was just a small group during our scheduled time. The tour operator was very nice and knowledgeable on the history of the caves, as well as general history of the area of Iceland. If you're in this area and can carve out a couple hours, it's worth the time, especially if you enjoy history.
  • Absolutely have to stop by! Make this part of your Iceland trip. I had it on my "maybe" list, booked last minute & debated if it's worth my time... IT WAS, the waterfall will be there..make a stop. Our guide was welcoming & knowledgeable (as much as history has given us). These caves are part of Icelandic culture, regardless of amount of info. Highly recommend.
  • As others have mentioned, this is an experience that deserves more attention. The possible history of the caves is fascinating, as are the caves themselves. Stefan (I hope that is correct?) was our guide. He is a talented story teller, filled with knowledge that he shares with humor and passion. Fantastic!
