Gljúfrafoss (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈkljuvraˌfɔsː]) or Gljúfrabúi [-ˈpuːɪ] ("one who lives in the canyon") is a small waterfall north of the larger falls of Seljalandsfoss in Iceland. The falls are partially obscured by the cliff rock, but hikers can follow a trail to enter the narrow canyon where the water plummets to a small pool. There is also a winding trail nearby and a wooden staircase to enable sightseers to climb roughly halfway up and view the falls from another perspective.Make Gljúfrafoss part of your personalized Hvolsvollur itinerary using our Hvolsvollur trip itinerary builder site.

A short walk along from Seljalandsfoss this waterfall his hidden between the rocks. If you are brave enough go through the gap but be prepared to get wet.

Waterfall inside a cave, only accessible by hopping on stones so take boots that can get wet. Inside the cave you wil probably get wet too because of the fog, but the experience is amazing.. never seen something like this before. There is a big rock where you can stand on to make awesome photo's.

This waterfall is just minutes walk from Seljalandsfoss and is kind of hidden behind the big Boulder , one needs rain jacket and waterproof hiking boots to get there stepping on the big stones but the experience is indescribable, simply stunning

Wow! Such a cool spot! Hike was easy in to the fall. Stepping stones in shallow water help to navigate to the fall. Good for almost all ages. Prepare to get wet! Parking close and short hike in.

One of the most amazing waterfalls I have ever seen. It is literally tucked in the cliff side mostly hidden from the rows. You have to walk on stone or wade in the stream to get into the interior. It is amazing to be inside with the beautiful waterfall cascading down as you enjoy the spray. Great photo opportunities on a big rock inside too. It gets crowded and is single file in and out. Also expect to get wet or wear water proof attire.

A very short walk from the main seljandifoss falls, but well worth it. If you weren’t already wet from the other falls, prepare to be here. To get to the cave you need to hop through the small stream on the rocks, and the mist in the cave will also add to the wetness. Well worth it to see the waterfall coming from right above you through the top of the cavern. Great experience
