Lava Centre, Hvolsvollur

It is a really nice museum for a quick visit. I think around 1 hour is enough for everything. Maybe it's a bit expensive but it's a really beautiful and well crafted interactive experience. There is also a nice shop with lots to buy and the staff is very nice as well.

Very instructive and quiet if you come between 9 and 10 am. We loved the interactive exhibition. The weather was clear and the view was stunning

This museum is amazing! I really liked that it was interactive. You had to move your arms and rotate a wheel for information. Besides that, it was sooo interesting and they give a great amount of information. Not to much, but what they do tell you is very interesting and breathing even. It might be a little bit pricey, but if you take the time to read everything and look at the movie and all the pictures, it's definitely worth it! The rooftop view is equally awesome. You can see all the active vulcanos in the region.

The Lava Centre in Hvolsvöllur is a unique experience. On the roof of the building there is a platform from where one can see several volcanoes. The videos and interactive features are very important. The centre (museum) can be recommended.
