  • We had an amazing time. We caught so many fish, and kept the 4 largest cods for lunch. Our guide was also a marine biologist, so she did a great job identifying and explaining the different birds...

  • Amazing fishing trip just outside of Reykjavik! We were a bit worried when there was no one called "Happy Tours" (we booked through "Guide to Iceland") but by asking around at the dock, we found the Elding booth and got directed to our boat, the Saga. We had the full 15 people on board, and it was a lovely sunny day with very little wind. We saw only a single puffin flying by, so I'm glad we weren't expecting more in that category. We stopped at one location where I caught the only two fish (pollack) and then we moved to another spot. Immediately, every single person had a fish on the line. It was incredible! We fished for what felt like 2 hours in this location alone, catching a ton and keeping until we had enough to eat. The gear was fine, some of the reels were what my fishing pro partner would call "crunchy" but the thing that made it exceptional was the staff, especially Oscar. He did all the dirty work of taking the fish off the line and moved so quickly that we were back in the water mere moments later. It was the perfect balance of physical exertion / ownership over your catch but also not actually needing any technical skill. He did say that the ~200 fish our group caught that day was very unusual - we had multiple times where more than one person caught two fish on the line as they were reeling it in! Lunch on the way back, grilled fish and potato salad, was delicious, and we even got to keep some fish to bring back to our apartment to cook later (we just had to tell them in advance how much we wanted). Highly recommend, for even casual fishers!
  • I booked the puffin watching + fishing experience but the captain completely neglected the puffin watching (the primary reason why I booked to begin with). The weather was absolutely perfect and the waters calm... Half way through the trip I asked the captain if we were still going to do the puffins and he said yes, however, after fishing we went straight back to the dock. It should have been the first activity on the trip according to the site description. I talked to reception about this afterwards but they just told me to send them an email and said I MIGHT be partially refunded after an "investigation" is performed. The captain didn't say a single word to the guests the entire trip, however, his mate did a great job at helping everyone (though, there was zero communication about safety procedure, where the life jackets are, etc.) I've been on well over a dozen fishing tours, both public and private, and this one was unfortunately lower on the list overall. Also, they didn't even use bait, just basic bright green and red lures. What fish we did catch, they cooked well and it was good. So, there's at least that.
  • What a wonderful tour!!! We highly recommend this amazing experience! Our knowledgeable and kind Captain and crew were so attentive and pleasant! We saw puffins, caught some Cod and then watched our Captain cook a scrumptious feast for us. Thank you again for these wonderful memories! Stéphanie
  • A great trip. Fishing and Puffins. Family crew very knowledgeable. Professional and friendly from the outset. Loads of fish caught. And heaps released given we caught enough of a few different types to enjoy an amazing lunch. Would throughly recommend.
  • Went on a Sea Fishing Gourmet tour and it was amazing! The captain was knowledgeable and friendly. His daughter was our guide and was just as friendly and wonderful. The tours are small groups so it's nice and not overcrowded on the boat. Everyone in our group caught multiple fish! To top it all off, they prepare you a delicious meal right on board when you return to the harbor and you feast on your catch. We even had extra to take on the road with us which was great! We had a blast and I'd highly recommend this small family business for a fishing excursion. They let you have as much autonomy as you feel comfortable. I wasn't taking my fish off the hooks but others were and it was fine either way. Loved it and I'd definitely go back for another tour.
