This stepwell is best for historical place to visit in Ahmedabad, I think it's located in heart of Ahmedabad but it's closed, This stepwell visit time 9:am to 5:pm I visit at 4 pm and it's a close. 1 man who seat at this well gate he say it's government property and it's a Closed by government... I never understand that,, any 1 can explain ...

Amritavarshini Vav, also known as Panchkuva Stepwell , is a stepwell near the Panchkuva Darwaja in Ahmedabad.

It is located at walking distance from Kalupur railway station. L-shaped Vav. Marvellous heritage structure. I joined the team of Adi Foundation to clean the Vav. These are the pictures after the cleaning was done. Request everyone to keep it clean when visit this place.

This vav is peculiar for its L shaped construction hence called as in gujarati as katkhuni vav or L shape. Once you reach this location , as shown in Google, don't get disheartened if entry gate is locked. Adjacent to vav is a temple whose priest will give you the keys with a request to return without forgetting. Just as you enter, read the description of vav and soak in the historic heritage monument built for reaching the well at an angle. You appreciate as you move along and around the Vav. Well maintained and worth visiting. Enjoy.
