Jal Mahal, Jaipur

3.5
Create an itinerary including Jal Mahal
Admire Jaipur’s majestic “floating palace,” Jal Mahal, situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. The red sandstone palace supposedly dates back to the 18th century, but has been renovated and restored numerous times. On a lakeside stroll, you’ll find that the palace appears to be floating on the water's surface, but in reality only the top floor of the imposing building is visible, while the rest are submerged underwater. While entry into the palace is prohibited, you can take a boat ride on the lake to inspect it closely, or enjoy the view from the land. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Jal Mahal and many more Jaipur attractions: make an itinerary online using Klarna Trips Jaipur trip planner.

  • Stench of this lake is unbearable. The air is sickening. Why can’t the Rajasthan tourism board do something about this? See from far and don’t go near the place. Also full of pestering street vendors

  • The place is beautiful and well maintained for tourists. You'll see the mahal on water from the road itself. There is no need to fall in trap of tourist guides here. Just roam around, take photographs and enjoy.
  • The structure is beautiful to see, an ancient Palace in the middle of a water body! A must visit place and you have to take a pic here if you are in Jaipur. Besides looking at this structure, there is nothing much to do. You can feed the fishes, but I didn't even see one, maybe because it was mid summer day. Sadly no cafe to sit and enjoy the beauty of this place. Surroundings not very clean. It's on the way to Amer Fort so you won't miss it!
  • Jal mahal has a great attraction among tourist. Come here walk, jog, feed the birds, soak the views of sunset and sunlight. Also a lot of street vendors serves you with mouth watering street food. An absolutely must visit place in Jaipur
  • Beautiful, peaceful and scenic. The beauty of the place comes out best in evenings though and early morning visit would be delightful for sure. You can feed the fish but I felt that the fish were pretty overfed. You can feed the ducks but they hardly come to the shore. You can see interesting birds like Flamingo and Crane sitting on one leg in the water
  • Jal Mahal View Point is located Amer Road Jaipur Rajasthan. Jal Mahal in Mansgar Lake View Point near Lake road side is well maintained by JDA Jaipur Rajasthan but Lake is very darty not clean water properly.
