  • 1. One of mine best trip till date. 2. One can go there by there own vehicle or use can hire vehicle from narkanda. 3. it is located at 3400 feet height. 4.from the top u can see different places. 5. One of the best place for the family trip 6. One of the coldest place in the region.
  • The drive to the temple can be difficult for inexperienced drivers. The road can get tricky during rain and snow. The locals and cars with all wheel drive can easily climb the road till the temple. remember the thumb rule to blow horn on corners and give way to the vehicle which is climbing uphill. The temperature can drop here easily. But the views are amazing and breathtaking. Must visit place.
  • Loved this place. It takes 4:30-5 hours from chandigarh to reach. Peaceful area and temple is on the peak on mountain. It's a beautiful view from there. There is also a lake on the way which is around 2 kms back from the temple, which is such a beautiful place.
  • Hatu is around 70 kms from Shimla making it an easy day trip. Hire a taxi from Shimla through your hotel or through one of the many online sites. Hatu Peak is a little over 11000ft above sea level. The drive through forests & apple orchards to get here is really pretty. Spring season is gorgeous as Rhododendron, cherry & apple trees are in bloom. We didn’t go at peak tourist season of May-August so didn’t encounter many tourists & traffic but I’m told by locals that peak tourism period can be a traffic nightmare on these hill roads. There are plenty of small eateries & also a Himachal Pradesh tourism hotel in Narkanda, 7 kms from Hatu. The temple is a 4 km drive once you reach the parking area. If you want to leave the car behind & hike, be prepared for a gradual incline & lungs working harder due to the height. Usually takes 2 -2 1/2 hours to do the 8km loop. It’s a pretty walk/drive with views of the Himalayan range. Views of snow clad mountains as you hike up. When you get to the top, visit the beautiful temple of Hatu Mata. Carved wood temple built in traditional himachali architectural style. Keep in mind, photography inside the temple is prohibited. After resting & taking in the views, head down back to the parking lot. There are a couple of dhabas that serve maggi & few other fast food items & tea. If you hiked, you’ll definitely want a plate of yummy masala maggi!
  • Hathu peak is one of the highest peak in the shimla region. The view is very mesmerizing and beautiful. The road from narkanda-chitkul point to hathu mata temple is very dangerous and adventurous. Because the road is very steep and narrowed. So, whenever you plan your trip, drive very carefully. Point to be note : 1. According to local people, there are some leopards in the region and they attacks on animals. So, beware during the visit. 🐆🦁 2. Temple is situated at 11154 feet. So, always wear warm clothes or jacket kind of thing and avoid travel during the rainy season. 3. There is no food stall near the temple. So, its better to take food/fruits with yourself from the starting point of the temple.
