Wash your feet at the pond of Shantadurga Temple, a red-colored spectacle with yellow borders, featuring an impressive idol of the goddess Shree Durga flanked by Vishnu and Shiva. Originally built in 1550 out of mud and palm leaves, the present laterite and granite temple structure, a fusion Indo-Portuguese style, was added between 1713 and 1738. The clean and well-managed Hindu temple features a lavish silver palanquin protected by one of the most revered patron deities of the Brahmin community. Bike or drive to the site, some 33 km (20 mi) away from Panaji. Photographs inside the temple are not allowed. Best spot. Nice and calm! Pray and feel the positive energy within you. People who wear trouser and jeans are not allowed inside the temple, however you'll be given an over Towel to wear above your trousers before getting in. Do not litter.

This temple is very amazing and calm place. Despite of any season temple is always cool. You must visit it in festive season. It is very well decorated and full of enthusiasm in festive seasons. It is inside goa and quiet far from beaches. But there are plenty of cars agents available outside the temple on rent.

Nice temple. They have dress code to enter in temple. Shorts/skirts/one piece till knee for girls etc not allowed. Women should be in full dress and men should wearing full pant or dhoti. Good things-temple is clean. Bad thing-But no where trash cans are kept. Parking space is problem. No proper parking. Road side is allowed only.

Located in the hills, 30 kms from Panaji, it has had a history of its own. Initally destroyed by the Portuguese and later shifted, it is the temple dedicated to Adishakti form of Durga who intervened and stopped the war between Vishnu & Shiva. Since the temple has been removed several times, you can witness modern architecture. The lamp tower (Deepa Stambha) in front of the temple is awe-inspiring and beautiful and there is a kund right outside the temple. It feels amazing to see history taking refuge in the hills to protect its identity. Note pictures inside the temple is strictly prohibited. Blessed to have been here.
