  • Not worth a walk or a drive. Just whitewashed army barrack which is also locked. The approach road is bad and all you can get is a small tea shop

  • Amazing historical place to visit. Although it is not so big but it is connected to our history. So i really liked the place. Dark area in that jail is bit spooky 😬
  • A wonderful experience. Went there in the evening when there was no crowd at all. Was fortunate enough have a chat to with a sweet gorkha jawan who told me stories about the place. It takes you back to those days you read about in the history books . The cells in the jail gives you a mixed feeling of pride and pain..pride coz you realise the sacrifices of our brave freedom fighters and how much they have endured to free the Country..and pain for the very same reason. You should visit the place for sure.lots to learn from this place .
  • Glimpse from history. Very but if ï’ℓ and peaceful place. The jail was built by British long time back. Very close to Chandigarh. Must visit place.
  • Very good place for history buffs. Lot of unheard secrets are held here. Very well maintained by the army people. Only two jail museums in india..dagshai and kalapani at andaman. Did you know that mughals made a jail at this place for criminals and before imprisoning they were stamped on the head so this place is called "dag - e - shahi" !! The britishers also used it as a jail for mutineers and revoltunaries of 1857. Even irish men of british army who revolted against brits for freedom of ireland were imprisoned here and then our mahatma gandhi went to meet them to show his solidarity and stayed at this jail with them. Much later his killer godse was also imprisoned here. The irish prisoners were buried there and much later irish authorities exhumed them officially and awared them posthomously back at home. So much to learn !!
  • Worth a visit. Awaken patriotic feelings. All of us must be grateful for what our freedom fighters went through. You go there and you realise that if you are free, you owe it to them . They went through hell to give you freedom. And question yourself what are you doing with this invaluable freedom.
