Experience the spiritual atmosphere of Ganges River in Varanasi, the holiest of the many cities nestled on the massive river’s banks. The sacred river attracts pilgrims from all over the country who come to take a dip in its waters, as well as a number of people hoping to be cremated there when they pass, so as to be freed from the cycle of reincarnation. On a boat ride along the river, you can observe the numerous "ghats" (stone steps that lead into the water), used for the rituals of bathing and cremation. There are more than 80 ghats, places with steps leading down to the water along the holy Ganges River in Varanasi. A walk along the Varanasi ghats is also a fascinating experience. A Ganga aarti ceremony is also held at the ghat. You can spend an hour without getting bored.

Varanasi a city of UtterPradesh on the bank of holy river Ganga, having more than 80 Ghat, is a known tourist place. This city has changed completely in last few years with so much development around the river bank and within the city. Lots of new hotels have developed due to increased tourist traffic, but the city has still retain its original ancient look. One of the best city on the entire long belt of river Ganga. Lots of places to visit for the tourist, lots of tasty local veg food one must have here. Excellent place for Internatainal tourist to visit.

Ganga Ghat is utilised as a local ferry port for going to the other side of river Ganga. Located just next to the Assi Ghat, Ganga Aarti is performed every day at this Ghat. Sunrise and Sunset are viewed best from this Ghat. 'Subah E Banaras' program is held at Assi Ghat everyday. It's a picturesque location.

A very nice place for tourists. You can enjoy boating in early morning starting from Assi ghat to till ghat ends. You can use small as well as Alaknanda cruise too. But book tickets for Alaknanda cruise in advance.
