Discover Bali's royal history at Taman Tirtagangga, a water palace featuring a network of fountains and pools surrounded by well-manicured gardens. Though it looks ancient, the palace complex actually dates back to the 1940s. Carefully restored after a nearby volcano erupted in 1963, the grounds boast an impressive eleven-tiered fountain that forms the centerpiece of the surrounding sculpture gardens. Make a brief visit to photograph these highlights and relax amid the verdant scenery, or plan a longer tour of the terraced countryside to see fertile rice paddies and a number of old temples. • Very touristy water garden. The gardens are well maintained and attractive. The highlight is the stepping stones across one of the ponds that is an ideal photo opportunity! Gets quite crowded but...

  • Great place to take photos and lots of tourists as well. The palace is actually not too big and can finish in half an hour or 45 minutes if you are quick. There are boats to rent as well.

  • It is quite a nice place to get Instagrammable pictures. There is a very clean pool of holy water where it is used for prayers, but it is not open to the public. Entrance ticket = IDR 50,000/person

  • Really lovely place with a lot of nice statues, fountains, and pools. You can walk on some steps in one of the pools, and take some nice pictures, but there might be a lot of people there. You can feed the fish, you will probably see some really big koi fish that have been eating food from all the tourists wanting to take pictures with fish around them. I can definitely recommend this place.
  • A beautiful view to behold. The fish are well fed. All I'll say is Bali is blessed. Lovely warm people with amazing sites. I had fun with our entire group. It was awesome. The stepping stones surrounded by water 💧 is just beautiful. I love the way the environment and preservation of natural and man made architecture are merged to birth beautiful sites like this.
  • Tiny place with only few interesting spots for photos. Lots of green and a decent peaceful walk until you have lots of tourists in the same area that is. You can easily be done in 15 minutes unless you are really into photo taking for Instagram or social media. The whole place looks fabricated. There's also villa next to the park but probably not worth justifying the staying price. Outside there are several shops and restaurants for convenience. The restaurant that is inside the Water Palace, however, seems very overpriced.
  • Lovely temple/ king’s playground that was more unique than some of the others because of the many pools and the stepping stones throughout them. I’m not sure how holy a place it was, as I didn’t see many locals praying like I did at the other temples. This one was more like the king’s pleasure palace. Of course like everywhere there are a lot of tourists getting in the way of the good scenery and taking photos everywhere, so try to go at a quiet time if you don’t want people blocking all your good shots.
  • Touristic place by excellence. Some guides at the entrance. Hire one of them ! The visit is much more interesting. This is the third time I visit this place, but this time with a guide was far the best one. Lots of beautiful fishes to feed, if this interest you. There arerestaurants inside, for a drink, a snack or even a meal. The place is nice and calm, if you subtract the tourists.
