Visit Tirta Empul Temple, an interesting Hindu place of worship built around a natural spring. Located directly by a water source and with a main building surrounded by a bathing structure, worshipers enter the holy water to be ritually purified. The rustic structures, flowing water, bathing devotees, and surrounding forest complement one another to create an inspiring and unusual sight. Remember to bring your camera to capture it. Tirta Empul Temple is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , international travel planner Edition.

Beautiful and amazing temple from start to finish. They require you to wear a sarong to cover your legs but will lend you one for free if you don't have your own. You might want to consider hiring a guide to give you a guided tour to give you the history of the sites of the temple and help you to take photos as they know all the best angles and spots. They are not expensive and are worth it. There are lots of tourists there bathing in the holy water, we didn't have time to but I would have if we did. Really recommend this temple.

Nice temple. You can definitely live the Balinese culture and experience the holy water blessing ritual. It is however a well-built tourist trap. The temple’s flow is built in a way that exposes you to both fruit selling ladies at the entrance and a labyrinth of touristy shops towards the exit. Both tourists and locals are welcome to go through the ritual, keep in mind the entrance fee is slightly higher for tourists. It is definitely worth visiting when exploring the neighboring sites, however I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit.

Learned so much about the culture the temple has to offer. We were fortunate enough to experience it on the day the village was doing their ceremony. Absolutely beautiful how this place is constructed. The holy water comes from the spring and flows right out of the spouts where you can cleanse yourself. Put this place on your planner if you’re coming!

3/5 🌟. Great place to visit as this is the shrine of holy water. For those that plan to come here to get a blessing with holy water shower can bring your extra cloths here and there is rental locker available. The place separate into few sections with holy water shower, fish feeding and also praying place (For locals only). Just have to be aware of those ladies that will try to give you some banana before you enter to the shrine and they will hunt you to purchase if you took one of the banana earlier, so please do not take it. Next is the exit path way, the locals built it in such way that all tourist will have to go through the market beside the temple which they will do hard sales to you. I wish I could give this place a full five stars but just have to give extra cautions when visiting here.

This sacred temple is a great place to experience the local religious practices on Bali. The locals are kind and open to sharing how to perform the cleansing rituals in the sacred springs. Note that not every spring is to be used, I recommend doing some research beforehand to understand which springs to use. The rest of the temple is beautiful, with dozens of stone statues, some 1000’s of years old.
