  • We bought some unusual items on a trip to Flores Island when we were there in 2012...one was a ceremonial piece from Sumba that they had only seen one other time...They had some nice weavings there...

  • I absolutely loved the Batik fabric dye class offered by Threads Of Life. It was such a fascinating experience to learn about how fabrics are naturally dyed from such humble looking leaves. The creative part of the class was so relaxing and fulfilling. I loved the piece I created and using traditional tools and having everything come from nature. This was a really special experience.
  • Threads of Life is a treasure. One of the only organisations working to revitalise weaving in Bali and Indonesia. The store is magic: go and let your eyes feast on all things natural dye and textile related. Humans are amazing creators!
  • Very high quality hand made fabrics sourced from all over Indonesia and Timor. $ goes back to the makers. Investment pieces.
  • Small but really interesting little museum. Has examples of various traditional textiles, some for sale. Free to look round the place.
  • Beautiful presentation of traditional fabrics of various places in Indonesia. Relatively expensive but totally understandable. For a napkin dip dyed in natural color IDR 95k
