Though not as famous as its counterpart, Slieve League boasts cliffs that are actually three times the size of the Cliffs of Moher. This mountain along the Atlantic Coast stands 601 m (1,972 ft) high. Explore the area by foot along the site's pathways, or drive to a nearby lookout for a panoramic view of the sea cliffs. The most popular and well-photographed viewpoint is called Bunglass and can be reached by road from Teelin. Take an archeological tour of the region and visit the Slieve League Cliffs Centre for more tourist information, a quick bite at the cafe, or to browse the gift shop. Using our custom trip planner, Carrick attractions like Slieve League can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • The walk up to the cliffs will take your breath away but the view is well worth the effort. I could have stood looking at the colour of the rocks and the sea below all day.

  • We walked the hiking path until the weather made us stop. Amazing views as we walked up the path. We then drove to the Visitors Center and took the bus ride, again an amazing view of the cliffs.

  • Absolutely stunning views!! Going in November was quiet, and we were able to drive up the whole way beyond the gate!
  • Very nice, no entry fee which is always nice just pay for parking. It was lashing when we were there but still had a great time and the cliffs are so big you're bound to see some of it.
  • Well worth any effort made to get here it's a long drive we parked at the bottom carpark and walked to the peak . Weather was kind to us no rain . Its a good 2 hours from the main viewing point .
  • Slieve League or Slieve Liag is a mountain on the Atlantic coast of County Donegal, Ireland. At 601 metres, it has the second-highest sea cliffs in Ireland after Croaghaun, and some of the highest sea cliffs in Europe. From the Cliffs Centre, you can either drive right up to the main viewing area of the cliffs, or you can use the parking lot here and go on foot to the viewpoint. A walk in Ireland’s landscapes is a walk with Mother Nature, so choosing this option will treat you to beautiful scenery before you even reach the cliffs! From the viewpoint, the paths become rocky as you venture further up the wilds of Slieve League, so care must be taken when treading these paths. A guided walk of the cliffs will treat you to insights and stories about the local wildlife and landscapes, and for the experienced hikers, take the challenging journey from Pilgrim's Path along One Man’s Pass, which will bring you up to the summit of the cliffs. It is also believed that Slieve League was a place for pilgrimage before the arrival of Christianity to Ireland, with ancient stone remains dotted around the area. There is certainly a spiritual feeling as you journey up these mountains, surrounded by nature at its purest and most raw. Slieve League is often photographed from a viewpoint known as Bunglass. It can be reached by means of a narrow road that departs from Teelin. The final few kilometers of this route is built along a precipice and includes several places where it turns at the crest of a rise. The Sliabh Liag (Slieve League) cliffs are truly breathtaking, the cliff face of Bunglas rises over 600m above the raging ocean. Only experienced walkers should venture beyond the viewing point onto One Man's Pass which loops around the Pilgrim's Path. The trail is a total of 2.8 kilometres in length, with a vertical elevation of 420 metres. Expect a one way trip to take around 90 minutes for the average hiker.
  • The Slieve League cliffs were such an amazing spectacle. The walk up was a bit tough, but oh man, it was so worth it! There is a little coffee cart shop where you can buy a coffee once you get to the main spot. Be sure to take some panoramic photos. I did with my DJI Osmo 3 and they turned out great. Definitely worth the visit! 10/10
