Crawford Art Gallery, Cork

One of the great founders of modern Cork the history of Crawford alone is great. The Gallery hosts some very historic and amazing art pieces. What makes this Gallery special and unique is that it is free entry relying on donations. Not many places around do that. With a selection and taste of art for all. The new extension to the building that is planned will be a great addition. For now comparing to Gallery's around Europe it would have to get a 3 * It also has a cafe check ahead for opening times. Great work done by all the people involved in keeping it busy. Guided tours are also available. Or wonder around yourself. Also free entry. Highly recommended. Great for the City.

One of my favourite galleries They have beautiful collections The sculpture room is one of my favourite sections. They do great activities for children and people interested in Art They also participate in public events which is great to see, they are very much a part of the Cork community I would highly recommend visiting and supporting this gallery

This gallery has some super art pieces. The building itself has an old, original part and a modern extension, both very attractive in their own right. There are free lockers for coats and bags. I definitely recommend a visit.

Free entry(you can leave donation), lockers to leave your stuff. Gender neutral toilets too! It's an amazing experience I was amazed and spent good 2h in there. Modern and old art in one place. Would highly recommend this place.

A beautiful array of sculpture and painting. We went during the MEat & Potato exhibition and it was marvelous! The curation was thoughtful and spanned centuries, with both classic and modern artists represented in a variety of media. Especially delightful were the biscuits with icing representations of gallery pieces. There was an area where visitors could create their own art, and we did so, a delightful side adventure during our viewing. The mix of modern and period art is thought provoking; seeing a classic oil painted portrait from the 1800s next to a large scale photograph from the 1990s makes the viewer question what makes a museum-worthy, as longevity and hindsight taken out of the equation.
